Lintech is a consultancy service founded by it's proprietor and owner Dr Ian McLoughlin in the UK back in 1995.  At that time, the service operated under a different name and existed to market the consultancy time of Dr Ian McLoughlin and various associates.   From the start, the service was chosen by UK companies and even the UK Government to undertake various self-contained hardware and software development projects.

Up until 1998 all projects fell into two categories - speech and audio signal processing projects, and internet-related technologies.  A number of sub-contractors were also used to design e-commerce and web interfaces for various corporate clients.

Since 1998 there has been some diversification into generalised digital hardware design for low-power and portable products, software security and wireless technology (GSM, SMS, 3G etc...).  Core strengths are still speech and audio digital signal processing (which could include all steps between and including initially researching a technology and signing off a full quantity manufacturing package), Linux (including computer security and best usage practice) and low power, portable technology (especially involving an ARM-based platform, including algorithmic design for low power and reliability).

Dr Ian McLoughlin is a Chartered Engineer with a background that includes more then 10 years of industrial work experience for such organisations as Her Majesty's Government Communications Centre, GEC Hirst Research Center and Simoco Telecommunciations.  He also has experience of academic research and development, including securing funding from governmental and non-governmental organisations internationally.

He has published numerous papers and holds around 14 telecommunications patents around the world.
